Bay Area Video Coalition, or BAVC (pronounced "bay-vac") is the largest non-commercial media arts center in the country. BAVC was launched in 1976 as a way to make emerging video technology accessible to independent media makers. Today, with that mission still at its core, BAVC has evolved into a media arts "teaching mecca." BAVC trains hundreds of professionals from industry giants such as Pixar, Industrial Light & Magic, Apple and more in their accredited technology workshops. BAVC also specializes in creating media arts curricula, programs, and engaging educational DVD’s for youth. For the past seven years, BAVC has facilitated over 3000 young people in creating high-quality digital media projects through their intensive workshops, in-school, and after-school programs. Our young artists’ pieces are premiered in hundreds of film festivals and screenings across the nation each year. |

Zeum is the only Bay Area museum where visitors of all ages can combine hands-on use of animation, digital technology, electronic media, traditional and non-traditional materials, and the power of their imaginations to create high quality animations, movies, performances, music, art and more. |
